Mark Warner: Blogger?

I don’t know if Virginia Governor Mark Warner actually wrote this in Movable Type himself, but either way, I’m impressed — Virginia may be the only state with a blogging governor. (Somebody should tell him not to write “blogs” in quotes, like that. Blog is a word. We accepted this years ago. At least it’s not a “web-site,” a la Del. Bob McDonnell (R).) Warner is, of course, a tech guy, having made his fortune in cellular telephones and cofounding Nextel, so it’s fitting that he’d be blogging.

Let’s hope that Lt. Gov. Tim Kaine, who is running for Governor, catches on and creates a website that’s updated more often than annually. It’s 2004. You can’t run a campaign without a bad-ass website. You can’t run a party without a bad-ass website either. Thankfully, the state Democrats improved their website last year, and with the new Documenting Democracy blog, things are really starting to happen. And, somehow, it happened without me doing anything. Amazing. (I kid. That’s self-deprecating humor.)
