Those darned terrorists.

The Ottowa Citizen had a story in yesterday’s paper about a Canadian man who was detained at the airport in New York while flying through on business, on suspect of being a terrorist. He was not allowed to talk to an attorney, and after some days, he was sent to Syria to be interrogated. (Torture is illegal in the U.S., so we do it in other countries.) In Syria, they kept him in a box for ten months, and he was beaten, forced to confess (to what, he doesn’t know), and ultimately returned home to Canada.

I don’t want to live in a country that does this to people.
