		<description>The RT-D ignored its own list of good reasons to endorse Mark Warner for senator, so it could look backwards and endorse Jim Gilmore -- an awkward politician, known mostly for his stubbornness, who is probably going to lose by over 30 points.

This would have been such an easy race for the RT-D&#039;s editorial staff to unveil a fresh willingness to admit that sometimes -- maybe in tough times -- genuine talent has to trump staying true to an ideological school. 

Watching the Republican blame-fest after Warner&#039;s landslide win will be entertaining and perhaps edifying.</description>
