  1. Sarah Palin’s bandwagon has run into a ditch.

    Now the bizarre tactics her defenders are using, in hope of pumping air into its flat tires, are scaring away the very independents the GOP needs to get back in the game.

  2. This little stunt has backfired for McCain. He thought when he chose her that the buzz would carry him to election day.

    It didn’t take long for the new to wear off and for her to become joke fodder.

  3. McCain has a sizable advantage over Obama among evangelicals (76 to 20 percent), small town/rural voters (53 to 40), and those living in the South (54 to 40).

    There is still work to be done.
