USPTO shuts down one-click.

The Patent Office has rejected Amazon.com’s ludicrous one-click patent. It’s about time. I boycotted Amazon.com for five years over that stupid patent. I had some dude try to argue with me about this a few weeks ago — he insisted that this patent was solid as a rock, and that he knew because he’d helped do the prior art research on it. It was all I could do to keep myself from suggesting that he find himself a new line of work, because he clearly sucks at this.

Hopefully this will inspire others to challenge more software patents.
