MZM’s bioterrorism contract.

TPM: MZM’s first-ever contract, with the White House, wasn’t for office furniture — MZM’s contract was to screen the president’s mail for anthrax. What’s weirder: a brand-new company with zero experience in anything getting a contract with the freaking White House to sell them furniture, or to ensure that the president doesn’t die in a bioterrorism attack?

It would appear that Mssrs. Cheney & Bush had reason to be confident that no stringent screening for anthrax would be necessary. It was merely a handy excuse to direct money to MZM.
