Goode to enter the mouth of hell attend a Muslim service.

RT-D: Rep. Virgil Goode has agreed to attend a Muslim religious service at the request of an interfaith group. To crazy bigots requesting permission to totally lose their shit? Permission granted.

  1. This “Goode-enabler” thinks it’s just fine. Perhaps his visit will spark some dialogue between the Religion of Peace and some of its harsher critics.

  2. Yeah Mark:
I’m still peddlin’ them same facts…

I see they hurt, and you need to change topics…

MZM… I imagine that every thing done in the great state of West VA bringing in jobs is beyond all question, because it is done by a Democrat/s? Wonder if it’s ever happened in other blue states, where the press is less diligent, ya think?

  3. West Virginia? What do I care about West Virginia? We’re talking about Virginia — specifically, Martinsville.

I can’t understand why in one sentence you claim that continuing to talk about the issue of Goode and Martinsville would be good for Republicans and, in the very next sentence, you change the topic. Your prior post in this thread was about about France. This doesn’t add up.

  4. Ask the question of Mark, Waldo… He changed the subject originally to Martinsville…

You are trying to slam a pub for working with a corporation to bring jobs to a state.

What is wrong with asking ‘what about dems’ who brings jobs to a state?

Or is the actual subject here, how pubs are always wrong, evil, corrupt bigots and dems beyond question…. Mollohan maybe, or whatever that WV dem who gets ounce of ink in the WaPo but Virgil Goode gets it by the ton.

It’s called double standards Waldo, and you can carry on all you want; the facts speak pretty clearly on bias.

  5. You are trying to slam a pub for working with a corporation to bring jobs to a state.

No I’m not. I didn’t have a bad word to say about Rep. Goode bringing MZM to Virginia until it became clear that it was a terrible, terrible deal for Martinsville and Virginia. If you can find a single instance where I have ever said or implied any such thing, for for it. With 3,649 posts on this blog, it shouldn’t be difficult. Or you could admit that you completely made that up. I expect neither.

What is wrong with asking ‘what about dems’ who brings jobs to a state?

You can ask all you want. But I am entirely uninterested in West Virginia. The topic here is Rep. Goode. Despite your insistence that this is a topic that benefits Goode very much you have tried four times now to change he subject.

Or is the actual subject here, how pubs are always wrong, evil, corrupt bigots and dems beyond question….

I have never stated or implied that, Chris. Again: If you can find a single instance where I have ever said or implied any such thing, go for it. With 3,649 posts on this blog, it shouldn’t be difficult. Or you could admit that you completely made that up. I expect neither.

  6. Waldo:
Get a grip, You are savaging Goode for deal that he brought to VA for what he thought would be beneficial to his constituents. You are Monday Morning quarterbacking this.

Yes, I know you are entirely uninterested in WVA or any other state where a dem could possibly fall under the same or worse circumstances…

OK, Waldo, I believe you, pubs are not wrong, evil, corrupt, bigots… your statement is for your readers to evaluate…

and my original subject was Goode, Muslims, Europe and the United States… It is you and Mark that find us changing the subject!

  7. You are savaging Goode for deal that he brought to VA for what he thought would be beneficial to his constituents. You are Monday Morning quarterbacking this.

“Savaging”? Seriously? You think this is “savaging” him? You have got to be kidding me. If I were any nicer to the guy about all of this then he’d have to send me a thank you note and maybe a birthday card with $2 in quarters.

Monday morning quarterbacking? Chris, have you read a word of the coverage about this? Setting up the deal so that Martinsville, not MZM, would owe the money? That’s clearly a stupid idea. The state told Goode it was a stupid idea at the time and he did it anyway. As the Roanoke Times explained:

The company acquired the shell building at less than half its value. To make up the difference, Martinsville obtained $500,000 in state grants and agreed to pay back the money if the company did not deliver on its promises of jobs and site improvements.

“That’s not the way we do things,” said John Sternlicht, general counsel to the Virginia Economic Development Partnership, the state agency that drafted a performance agreement.

“The company is usually on the hook,” Sternlicht said. “But in this instance, based on [Martinsville’s] urgent request, this is what we did.”

Goode was the one who suggested the unusual agreement, which was reached at a time when negotiations between MZM and Martinsville appeared to be bogging down, according to e-mails.

From day 1 this was clearly a stupid idea.

Yes, I know you are entirely uninterested in WVA or any other state where a dem could possibly fall under the same or worse circumstances…

This may come as a surprise to you, but I don’t live in West Virginia. I cannot tell you who controls their legislature, who the governor is, or who their representatives in the House are. I don’t know and I don’t care. Why couldn’t a Democrat fall under “the same or worse circumstances” in Virginia? Are we special here?

my original subject was Goode, Muslims, Europe and the United States… It is you and Mark that find us changing the subject!

You don’t set the subject, Chris, I do. With every blog entry. You’ll notice no mention of Europe.

  8. Donkey… thank you for proving me right.

Either Virgil Goode is a corrupt politician who colluded with a corporation, resulting in campaign donations for the politician and major government grants for the corporation, all at the expense of an entire town.

    OR

As you suggest, Virgil Goode was simply trying to work with a corporation to bring jobs to the region, for the good of his constituents. Bravo for him! Except for the fact that he botched the job so badly he does not deserve the seat he holds.

  9. Waldo Says:
“You don’t set the subject, Chris, I do. With every blog entry. You’ll notice no mention of Europe.”

    Gee Waldo:
I’ll have to live with three out of four…

So, Goode made the deal happen… nothing ventured nothing gained, until it goes sour, and your political enemies dive in to ‘make some hay’ of the subject…

    and Waldo says:
“To crazy bigots requesting permission to totally lose their shit? Permission granted.”

Let me interpret: Anyone who disagrees with said blog owner on this subject is a bigot…. (now where did that come up today?)

  10. So, Goode made the deal happen… nothing ventured nothing gained

That’s right — he took a risk. And with that “venture” comes the need to take responsibility for the failure as surely as he would its success. Good for him for trying, though no credit can be given to the man for putting Martinsville’s ass on the line. His gamble didn’t work out. Now he needs to ‘fess up, admit his fault, and pay what he owes for making such a huge mistake.

“To crazy bigots requesting permission to totally lose their shit? Permission granted.”

Let me interpret: Anyone who disagrees with said blog owner on this subject is a bigot…. (now where did that come up today?)

Did you “totally lose your shit?” If so, yes, you’d be a bigot. If you did not, then you’re not. You decide.
