What’s also very interesting is the partisan split on the nasty amendment: Clearly, many Democrats are starting to see these anti-gay measures as the partisan crap they are.

If these results are accurate, more than a few Democrats in Virginia will vote “No,” including many who probably would have voted for the amendment had it been on the ballot in 2004. Similar patterns seem to be emerging in other states where these amendments will be voted on this year.

In other words, by 2008 the Republicans will probably have to come up with another reason to get the basest of their base to vote. And they will, they will…

FYI – there are three ballot questions this year, all pertaining to the constitution. Time to get everone reading the fine print so they can vote as well informed voters.

The scary thing about that same poll was that the polled were in favor of discrimination (ballot question #1) almost 2:1 – ouch! I had previously been reading that it was going neck and neck. Hmmm. Must go knock on more doors… buh bye!
