Four reasons for Bush.

4 Reasons to Be Glad Bush is Still President“. That’s about right.

Reason #5:

The debunking of “Conservatism”. Conservatism seemed like it made sense. Bush is Conservatism fulfilled and everything he does is the fulfillment of the broader movement that he was created to embody. As Bush falls, so falls the heredetary aristocracy for which he crusades.

What this proves is that liberals do not understand how conservatives see the way some of these events have unfolded, only how liberals see these events. From our side of the aisle, we see Iraq going well (we’ve learned to ignore the pessimistic MSM and listen to people who are actually there), the economy is doing well (though, arguably, any stats can be used to show that the economy is doing badly or well at any given time), and policy is a weaker point in Congress right now (though this could still damage Republicans). The only good point, that being corruption, will likely not influence future elections as much (controversy certainly did not hurt Bill Clinton, and I think much of this in both cases is due to a general lack of understanding over what the controversy is about). It’s not just conservatives that are hurting right now, but politicians in general are hurting. A negative media (whether MSM or blogs) drags down all parties involved; no one is immune.

I enjoyed the read. It was funny and sad at the same time.

Maybe I missed something.. the Clinton controversy was about sex and marital fidelity and lying about it- something everyone does.

Corruption is about taking money in exchange for political favors- which I think is supposed to be against the law. Not much more complicated than that.
