More anti-Kilgore editorials.

The editorial board backlash against Jerry Kilgore’s “Hitler” ad continues.

This “Hitler” ad may just be the best gift Kilgore could have given to the Kaine campaign.

From Bristol:

“Voters should see Rosenbluth’s words for what they represent — the anger of a bereaved father who is being used by an unscrupulous and desperate campaign.”

Wow!

Tim Kaine needs take every one of these words wrape them in his own rhetoric, might I suggest pervasive use of the words “Quivering Coward” and “Pitiful Liar” and cram them righ down Kilgore’s soprano-singin’ throat.

Kilgore ought to eat manure every day until he retracts and apologizes.

The memories of every decent politician in American History, not to mention 6 Million Jews, Poles, Germans, Europenans and American servicemen scream out for retribution against Kilgore’s brimstone wreaking soul.

I think I know what prompted Kilgore et. al. to go way over the top with their attack on Kaine. I think they were hoping that the whole mess would create enough havoc that no one would notice that a Federal Judge on Friday dismissed their attempt to force their insurance company to pay up on a claim. But, we’re not talking just any ol’ claim. No…..this one arose because not only did the GOP get caught eavesdropping on the Democrats and found legally liable, but they turned around and attempted to get their insurance company to cover the penalties, fees AND legal costs they incurred because the Democrats (rightfully) sued and (rightfully) won. A federal judge did not agree with GOP Logic(no surprise there!)and dismissed their frivolous and embarassing attempt to make the insurance company pay for the GOP’s criminal activity this past Friday. YEP…DISMISSED!

Never mind wondering what was the GOP “THINKING” when they engaged in the criminal activity they caused the stink and scandal, but who was the mastermind who decided to go ahead and file suit in the middle of the gubernatorial campaign? What does the notion that someone else (the insurance company) should pay for the GOP’s criminal wrongdoing reveal about how the Rightwing-nuts who have seized control of the Virginia GOP? I have noticed that significant Republican donors (Wheat,Kirk and others)see the party imploding and have endorsed Kaine with words and MONEY and have encouraged other Republicans to do the same. Maybe the Virginia GOP has been hanging to closely with the Dubya and his cronies up in D.C. I did notice Karl Rove sped away from his Grand Jury appearance to come help his good buddy Jerry Kilgore.

Maybe the “thinking Republicans” know that the only way to save their party from the far-right wing ideologies that have overtaken it, is to make sure Kilgore loses? Why else would have have filed such a frivolous lawsuit at the TIME that they filed it? Hmmmm….

I wonder what most Virginia voters will see — the ads themselves, or the editorials of a few newspapers that, nine time out of ten, endorse a Democrat or no one at all?

I hope Tim runs lots of response ads, with quotes from all these newspapers.

Keep talking about capital punishment, Tim. Keep voters wondering what you’d do with your power to set death sentences aside. Keep us all thinking about YOUR record on this issue, compared to Kilgore’s. Just don’t change the subject. Keep everyone’s focus right where it is.

That crazy Richmond Times-Dispatch, always endorsing Democrats. They are a part of the Massive Left-Wing Conspiracy™ against Jerry Kilgore, you know.

Huh. Not “with these ads, Kilgore wins and Kaine loses”? Maybe, just maybe, the response ad, which was out in 24 hours, didn’t blow quite as much as it seemed to you at the time. Maybe the campaign staff was somewhat prepared for this attack. More Scott Howell-produced ugliness is ahead, but I hope it doesn’t unleash quite such a snarling cry for blood when it happens again (probably November 1). Wonder how they’ll play against a background of Plame indictments? It might be hard for even a lurid Kilgore smear to get much attention if Fitzgerald’s grand jury aims high enough…
