Affianced, but not for long.

Waldo and AmberIt was a year ago yesterday that I blogged our engagement, promising a wedding in a year’s time. First thing Friday morning, Amber and I leave for North Carolina for the big day. We must get our marriage license before the end of the business day, and then Saturday we set up for the wedding. Sunday, at 11am, is the event itself, on the beach in Corolla, at the northern end of the Outer Banks. We will remain in Corolla for the week subsequent, voicemail messages announcing our absence and e-mail subscriptions temporarily held. No internets for us.

If you need to get in touch with me, don’t. If it’s urgent, call 911. I’m not going to check my e-mail until we return, around the 11th, so if you can hold off on e-mailing me until after then, that’d keep me from being overwhelmed upon our return.

This blog will be frozen in time — commenting and trackbacks will be disabled for the duration, so that I don’t have to worry about trolls or spammers. cvillenews.com will be tended to by two guest bloggers: Duane Gran and Cari, of Drunk on Democracy. It should, I hope, be quite a bit more interesting to read than it normally is. If the good Lord’s willing and the creek don’t rise, the server should hum along alright for the duration.

Y’all have fun.
