Or the kitten gets it.

So, about the kitten. It’s been a day. We’ve still got her. We drove along the road where we found her, putting handbills in the mailboxes, and maybe somebody will claim her. We gave her another bath tonight, and removed a whole mess of fleas, with only a few around her ears managing to escape us. We’re starting to suspect that she might be deaf — she’s totally unresponsive to even the loudest, most startling of sounds. Not that it matters. Cats just ignore people, anyhow.

She’s living in a crate in the spare bedroom (read as: place where I dumped all of my boxes when I moved in a few weeks ago), which is not the liveliest of homes, but it’s all that we can offer, and that’s only temporary.

Did I mention that she’s little and cute and at that perfect age for adopting? And did I mention that she’ll be living in Hotel SPCA before too long? And did I mention that it’s not a no-kill shelter?
